It is our mission to share knowledge, business know how and funding opportunities in creating sustainable, thriving businesses that will provide empowerment, employment and bring needed change within our communities. By building businesses and partnering with small organisations, women and youth will achieve and duplicate that which they have learnt – herewith growing a proudly South African business environment once again.

The company was established in 2019, by Melanie Daniels, who has over 20 years experience in the fundraising industry, as well as being a specialist in marketing and sales. Our team is dedicated to helping our clients build successful businesses that strengthen their brand, foster relationships with existing partners, government, corporates and individuals – locally, nationally and more importantly, internationally – growing the funding base in South Africa.

Uniq Foundation was established in 2019 based on the urgent need for funding, from non-profit organisations, who are not able to engage the services of a full time fundraiser.

Uniq Foundation is passionate about being involved at a grass roots level, having a hands-on approach, with firm partnerships in place and support from donors, sponsors, government and corporates - bringing the change we wish to see. Nonprofit organisations play a growing role in the social and economic well-being of South Africa. They provide services, goods and resources to meet community needs. They are businesses, most often charitable, that assist other businesses in the community to drive economic development, the arts, cultural awareness, education, health, and spirituality — virtually every sector of society. As government agencies and the private sector have scaled back their charitable giving in recent years, nonprofits have become indispensable. Oftentimes interaction in our communities, ensures the survival and growth, of the many non-profit organisations that exist to fulfill the role of government. There are still more businesses than nonprofits, but the number and importance of nonprofit organizations are both increasing.

We have approximately 3000 non-profit organisations registered in the Western Cape, with over 200 000 registered nationally. Many of these organisations with support from Uniq Foundation are able to focus on and execute their projects, but they lack the knowledge and information on how to access funding, nor do they have the professional presentation to promote their organisations to government or corporates. Over 60% of these organisations fail in achieving sustainability, or are unable to continue with their projects because of this lack, experienced. Uniq Foundation acts in this role, as well as applying for the many opportunities of funding available, through grant and proposal writing. We also present our partner organisations at meetings, whilst guiding them with regard to events, as we impart necessary, valuable fundraising knowledge through workshops hosted.

This is a winning team who are focused and determined to ensure the growth and sustainability of the non-profit organisations and small businesses they support.

Services For The Funder

Uniq Foundation offers a critical and necessary service to the prospective funder by providing the following services:

→ • Uniq Foundation (UF) presents the organisation to the prospective funder.
→ • UF ensures that each organisation seeking funding is compliant.
→ • Presentation of proposals is professionally done and all necessary documentation attached.
→ • We only present screened and existing non-profits.
→ • Uniq Foundation does site visits with all organisations.
→ • We meet with the Board of executives ensuring that we understand the project entirely and all role players.
→ • We meet with the organisation regularly.
→ • Regular funding reports are completed and presented timeously to the funder.
→ • UF ensures that the spend of the funds is responsibly accomplished.
→ • UF ensures that the direct beneficiaries enjoy the result of funding accomplished.

Government and Corporates are appreciative of the value that we bring, to the non-profit organisations that we support and most are willing to meet and discuss the various projects, always with the intention of assistance.

Services For The Partner NPO

We support our partners with the following services:

→ • Grant & Proposal writing.
→ • Researching funding opportunities locally, nationally & internationally.
→ • Networking for the promotion of the organisation.
→ • Meeting with prospective funders & investors.
→ • Ensuring the sustainability of the partner organisations through sufficient funding and growing their reserves.
→ • Assisting them with sufficient funding allowing them to grow their organisations and their communities by offering employment, empowering youth and women.
→ • Partnerships – with influential entities for investment into NPO’s.
